My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jessi was not given the best start in life, sadly. She was found as a puppy on the side of the road, emaciated. The people that found her put her on a tie-out in the backyard and once Jessi got healthy and active, the family didn’t have the ability to properly care for her anymore. Because Jessi was so desperate for affection/attention, she began jumping on her owners/children anytime they came out into the backyard and she would grab their arms with her mouth. She does not bite down, but she is very mouthy (but is learning not to be!). This made the people not want to get close to her for fear of being scratched/jumped on. But they still loved her, so would come out into the backyard and stand just out of reach of Jessi’s tether; so Jessi could see and hear them but no matter how much she tried (and she tried HARD), Jessi could not get to them and could not get any affection. Due to this, Jesse has had zero ‘home’ training. But she is scary smart and loves to learn!
Regarding cats and children, from Jessi's foster mom:

Jessi does like to chase cats but she does it more as an excuse to run, and not as a ‘I want to kill you’ kind of thing. However, cats typically do not enjoy this, so a home without cats would probably be best.
Jessi hasn’t been tested with young kids however she is very energetic and is a bull-in-a-China shop, so parents need to be aware and be ok with this. She’s gonna knock some kids down at some point.Regarding basic training, from Jessi's foster mom:

Jessi knows how to sit, so far; we have been working on leash manners and house manners, as well as self control. When in a crate, we make Jessi wait before she is able to get out of the crate

If Jessi sounds like the one for you and your lifestyle, please read info below regarding adopting.

This pet has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, and is on heartworm and flea prevention and has adoption fee of $500. If you are interested please complete an adoption application at saveastray.org .

Jessie is being cared for in Alabama, however that's not a problem because we transport on Rescue Riders Pet Transport,. They are the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Oh and the transport fee is already being paid for in the adoption fee.

Save a Stray pets are in foster homes.
