Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blaze von Berlin is a beautiful 10-11 month old German Shepherd. He is a sweet and loving youngster who enjoys playing chase with his foster siblings and inviting himself to join you in whatever you are doing! He’s a handsome sable teen with smarts and a fun-loving personality. Blaze has a great attitude when it comes to learning new things. He catches on quickly and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement. He walks well on leash and is learning he doesn’t need to tell us about other dogs. He knows some commands, is housebroken and crate trained, although, he prefers to sleep next to you on his own bed. He loves to cuddle and will self entertain with toys and chews. He’s very social at daycare and a good boy at the self wash grooming. His favorite job is being a sous chef ! He will tell you when it’s snack time for carrots and celery! He wants you to know he likes to help recycling by shredding empty amazon boxes! If you’d like to know more about this charming boy, inquire today!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
