Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! Wag…wag…my name is Lucky. Wag…I’m a large, mixed breed dog, and I’m looking for some new people to live with. Anyway, as I said, I’m large. 120 pounds, plus or minus, a neutered female, and I appear to be a lot of Lab, with some Husky (I have a light mask, and a beautiful tail), and maybe some German Shepard, (because I’m pretty smart). I have a few tricks I can do…wag.. and I have good manners. I know how to sit, stay, speak on command, roll over, and “leave it”. I don’t jump on people, or furniture, and I don’t chew on other folk’s stuff. Like most dogs, I love-love-love to have my belly rubbed, and if you’re not into that, I’ll settle for an ear rub. Or both. Whatever I can get. I’m pretty easy going, very gentle, and I always try hard to make my people happy. I’m very friendly with humans…wag…also, I really like to go for car rides. What I really don’t like though, is having a bath.
When I came to live with my current people, there were 3 kids in the house, plus lots of the kid’s friends. We used to watch T.V. together, and roll around on the floor, and I got tons of attention, which I really liked. Then the kids grew up and moved away. My human person, who everybody calls Mom, wants to travel more now, and the other human person works really long hours and is talking about going to work in a big city. They would probably live in a little condo. Little condos and big cities are not places for a big dog like me.
I spend most of my days on the front porch, watching the world go by; even in the winter as I don’t mind the cold. It can be pretty interesting, what with the kids getting off & on the bus, the mailmen, trash guys, and other people and dogs walking by. The thing is, I would rather be more a participant out there, and less of an observer. And, I get lonely. I would love to live with some people who had some time for me. Even though I’m an older dog, I’m still willing & able to get going when someone wants to do something!
So, that’s my story. It doesn’t take much to keep me happy. Some food, 3 or 4 trips “out” a day, and the pleasure of your company. If I sound like a dog you might like to share your life with, Alex can arrange to have me meet you.
