Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IN BLOOMINGTON , IN
Meet Tilley! She is a beautiful Australian Shepherd Mix with a shorter coat that has shades of copper, cream, chestnut, and tawny. She also has the cutest little brown speckles on her paws, chest, and muzzle!
She is the sweetest little lady! Estimated to be between 12-18 months, Tilley was an owner-surrender to a rural shelter in KY. Her former owners did not have time for her, but Tilley holds no grudges towards humans. She loves people and cuddling on the couch! For being as young as she is, she is about a 5 or 6 on the 1-10 energy scale. She can absolutely play and play, but also has a nice off switch and will snuggle up and relax. She will bond quickly to her person, but is very apprehensive of unfamiliar dogs. Due to this fear, Tilley would be best at home as an only dog, or with a calm and confident male canine companion who can help her overcome her fear of other dogs. She also has a tendency to be a little dominant with other dogs.
Tilley needs a fenced-in yard to play and potty, as she loves to chase squirrels (who doesn’t?) . She is a pro at doing her potty business and has not had a single accident in her foster home! She also requires a fenced-in yard because she can be reactive on a leash–this is something her forever family will need to keep working on with her.
Tilley is SUPER smart and knows her name, sit, down, and off–she is very treat-motivated, which is a bonus! One of Tilley’s best attributes is that she is non-destructive and does not need to be crated, but she will still go in one if her person really wants her to. She has been left alone for hours at a time with zero mishaps. Tilley doesn’t care much for toys, but loves a good bully stick and doing zoomies around the yard. She does well with the cats in her foster home, but as they kind of look like squirrels, any potential feline siblings will need to be dog-savvy. She loves car rides and is very calm in the car.
Tilley is an adorable, kind, and personable dog. With the proper care and training, she will be a wonderfully loyal and loving pet. Tilley is being fostered in Bloomington, IN.
Tilley’s needs:
To be the only dog in the home, or have a confident and calm canine role model to help her with her anxiety of other dogs.
A fenced-in yard. Tilley does not try to dig or climb, so a standard 4-foot fence should be fine.
Someone to continue her leash- walking manners, training, and socialization with other dogs and the world.
Tilley’s wants:
Someone to snuggle with and call her own. Seriously, this girl is all about snuggling on the couch and hanging out with her people.
