Arrival story: Apollo was surrendered to shelter due to owner’s health issues, He spent nearly two months at Macomb County Animal Shelter before joining the Waggin' Tails family.

Approximate age / Weight: 9yrs old / 70 lbs

Personality: Apollo is a very sweet, lovable, and soulful boy! He lights up when he sees a tennis ball, enjoys chewing on a Benebone, and hasn’t met a treat he didn’t enjoy. He loves to hang out in the yard watching the day go by and if inside, he seeks the sunniest spot for a nap. Apollo is not shy about asking for belly and tushy scratches and thinks he’s a lap dog. He’s been known to climb up on the couch to lay on his person.

It is impossible not to be smitten with this boy! Apollo enjoys visitors and everyone that has met him adores him. He has great house manners and is heading to training class to learn the basic queues.

Apollo is great at the vet office and doesn't mind getting a vaccine, bloodwork, ear meds, or taking pills. He is prone to ear infections so that is something to keep an eye on.

Forever Home: Apollo is looking for humans who are affectionate. While he’s very affectionate, he isn’t needy and is perfectly content to be on his own for periods of time. A fence is preferable as he likes to chase cars. Our Apollo is just filled with tons of love and will quickly become your best bud.

Apollo would love a home with a family willing to give him all the attention and pets. He’s content hanging out on his own for periods of time & would love a fenced yard to hang out in. Apollo is filled with tons of love & will quickly become your best bud!
