Hi! I’m Ila (ila) a 1 year old border collie cattle dog mix. I am super duper sweet and gentle but also can be shy and timid. I am about 30 lbs and very athletic and energetic.
Ila is an adorable, sweet herding dog mix who came to the rescue at no fault of her own. She is gentle with people and good with most dogs.
Ila can shy away from rude or rambunctious dogs so she will be going to a home that has a friendly dog or as an only dog. She will not be taken to a dog park. Ila will hide if she feels she is being picked on. Her owner is going to have to work on improving her self confidence and managing the dogs she meets.
Ila is very eager to please and bares the traits of a cattle dog. She is “sticky” with her person and is easily directed. She really wants to do the right thing. Ila is needy!!! She will be all over you. She needs help with basic manners and training but that will come with the right guidance as she is so smart.
Ila credentials:
-herding dog savvy owner who knows their tendencies
-gentle handler using only positive reinforcement. If you don’t have patience or want a turn key dog, look elsewhere. This dog is not for you.
-a quiet predictable environment. She is very easy going in the house but could use some help with basic manners. She is eager to please but needy.
-someone active! Walks won’t cut it, like any herding dog that’s just getting them going. Ila would make an incredible sport dog prospect!!!! She has tons of toy drive, is eager to please and is easy to direct. She needs an active home.
-no apartment or duplexes. She needs more space
-fenced yard! She sticks around but needs a safe place to burn off some steam if her person can’t get her out at that moment.
Ila is going to be a score for someone and I mean it! She is sort of perfect but definitely needs some basic training and exposure. Ila is crate trained, rides descent in the car, walks on a leash and house training is hit or miss but improving. Ila is spayed, microchipped and UTD on vaccines.
