Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pandora is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
We are fairly certain that Pandora was dumped. She took refuge at the local library. We were called, and immediately went and got her. Pandora is a Great Pyrenees, possibly purebred, and we estimate she is around 7 months of age. She currently weighs 67 pounds but she is still really underweight. However, she must gain weight slowly, so as not to stress her joints. She may be 100 or more pounds when fully grown at 2 years. Pandora is very sweet, gentle, and loving. She loves to play and wrestle with other nice dogs. She has barked at cats and livestock, so she probably wouldn't do well with them. So far she has shown no interest in toys or chews, but she loves treats. Pandora likes people but can be a bit evasive. Especially when she thinks we are going to make her go back in her kennel (unless it is to eat). Pandora is protective of her food when other dogs are around. This is to be expected with a dog that has been starved. It is critical that Pandora receive basic obedience training. We have not had her for long, and she is bad about jumping on people. We doubt that she has ever been inside a home but we still want her to be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and she would like to have a securely fenced yard to run and play.
Pandora has seen a vet and she is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receiving monthly heartworm and flea preventative. When we got her, Pandora's skin was red from allergies. Generic Zyrtec solved the problem. Her allergies may go away when she goes to a new state. Pandora has a $550.00 adoption fee which includes the cost of ground transport via Rescue Road Trips for pickup in Washington or New Stanton PA. She is being fostered in Texas, and we do not have the resources to send her north until after she is adopted.
