My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Bucky!

NEED IMMEDIATE ADOPTION OR FOSTER HOME FOR BUCKY!   Shortly we will no longer be able to foster this wonderful dog.   Please, your help is needed.   Bucky will be an absolutely great member of your family!

Bucky Here!  Darn I am cute!   If I am not adopted soon, I will end up wearing some funky things.   STOP!   I do have my dignity!   ADOPT ME!!!!

Bucky - here again!   I have had a great week with my foster family.   I got to stay outside because of the cooler weather and play ball more!   I also got to snooze on my foster mom's knee while she was working.   I am patiently waiting for my forever home!   Come and get me!

Hello! I am Bucky. I am so happy I am with my loving fosters. I would like to meet my forever family!  I might sound and look scary, but all I want is love and to play ball. I want to tell you about me. I did have a car accident, that has not stopped me. I have had basic training, so i am a better boy! I am healthy and want to run and chase the big birds from flying over my yard. My foster family tells me I am so goofy.

Yeah, I look scary and I do bark letting everyone know I am here. When you come in my home with my family, I want to smell you then want you to pet me. My foster family does have some repair men come in the home. They leave my best friends. I would like to meet the lawn guy, however the big machine he rids on is scary. It reminds my of my arch nemesis the vacuum cleaner.

When I was rescued, I found out what hit me was a car. That was bad. After having doctors fix me up I have not looked back. I run, run, and run some more. I love to play ball in the back yard. I did have problems around cars. My loving fosters showed me it was no problem. They gave me bacon going into the car. I love bacon. Now I am excited to get in the car for a ride, especially for a pup cup. I love taking walks, I would prefer runs. My foster family does not run, I understand.

Oh I love my trainers, they were so good to me! When I was found, I did not know what to do when my fosters were talking to me. After two weeks away from my foster family I now understand. I can sit, go to place, lets go, and down like the best of them.

I have a good life with my fosters and AARF. I am ready for my forever family. Will that be with you?

Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application .

Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations.

Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children.

Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
