Gordy is the cutest little man around!! We think he’s a wire haired Dachshund mix. He’s 5 years old and weighs 9 pounds. He came from a hoarding house in Texas that sadly, caught fire. He was one of 8 dogs saved. He was put in a shelter and then brought here to Colorado to find a forever home. He took several days to decompress from his ordeal and transport, but now he’s a happy, silly little dude. He is timid and shy to start with, so his new family will need to be patient with him. He bonds quickly and loves his foster mom like crazy. He is a lap dog and cuddle man. He is a bit hand-shy, so only respectful older kids for him. He has not been cat tested, but we suspect he’d be fine as all he wants is to be on his human’s lap. He would be good as an only dog or with other dogs his size. He doesn’t play with any of his foster siblings at all. He just wants to be in a lap. He is crate trained and potty trained. He would benefit from an obedience class to gain some confidence and manners. He currently is afraid of walking on a leash, but his foster mom is working on that. Since he is not leash trained, he will need a yard or fenced outside area to potty in. Gordy is neutered, utd on vaccs and chipped.
