My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello my name is Winston also known as Winnie. I was rescued from Corona, Queens back in January 2020. I was part of a colony and my colony caretaker noticed that I was not feeling too well. He sought out help from fellow rescuers. I literally spent the first year of my life indoors being very ill. I very slowly began to feel better once I had a full mouth extraction (years of being on the street were not kind to my teeth), and further diagnostics that determined the root of the problem Rhinitis; inflammation of my nasal passages. I responded well to treatment and breath comfortably now. I was also dx with FIV, which is not a big deal at all. It just means I should be kept inside far away from street life as there are too many risk factors that are not good for a senior with a compromised immune system.

Message from Foster Mommy Nube: Winston just melts my heart; he has come such a long way. I have been working closely with a socializer to help Winston trust humans. He now enjoys human company, allows some petting, loves when I bring his little toy mice for play, and enjoys sitting with me and watching fish videos on our I pad while enjoying some churu snacks.
