Here's what the humans have to say about me:
John Boy is an 8 month old neutered male Hound mix. He weighs 46 lbs. From his foster - "John Boy is a big cuddly dog. He loves snuggles and to sit with you on the couch. He is food motivated and loves his toys. He knows sit, down, and shake. We are working on stay and leash skills. I took him on a nice long walk this afternoon and he did great. He is doing awesome in the crate and no accidents in the house so far."
John Boy is a smart pup, quick to learn. Brave and would be good for a first time dog owner. He loves to play, but his play can get a bit rough so he will need pack mates who love to play and people who will step in and remind him to calm. Moderate energy level. Good with kids 10+ due to rough play. Has not had crate experience yet, will need to be fed in his crate and have crate games played with him to get him used to in it. Increasing duration over time, not just sticking him in a crate. Good with other dogs, is a chameleon, will mirror the play of the other dog. Good with resources. Positive food drive and toy drive - likes to tug and will give up his toy gently. Needs supervision outdoors; can escape from fences.
At the time of assessment I successfully completed the following AKC Canine Good Citizen Skills:
YES - Accept a friendly stranger
YES - Let someone pet me
YES - Let someone check my ears and feet
50/50 PRETTY GOOD - Walk nicely on a leash
YES - Walk through a crowd (hallway)
*KNOWS SIT, DOWN - NO STAY YET - Sit, down & stay in place
NEEDS WORK - Come when called
*NEEDS WORK - Walk by another dog on a leash
YES - Respond well to distractions
YES - Let someone hold my leash while you are out of sight for 3 minutes
