This helps Heartland Small Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
Zeus is 10-11 years old and weighs about 125 pounds. This guy is definitely not for everyone: as a Bullmastiff he is naturally suspicious of anyone and anything that might be a threat to his special person or his territory; he has some triggers from his past life that can cause him to misinterpret innocent motions as threatening, so care must always be taken when handling him; he is well past the normal lifespan of his breed and has the intervetrebral disk disease and spinal arthritis to show for it; and he requires a twice daily thyroid pill. However, his aches and pains are readily managed with standard medications, he adores his somewhat ponderous walk each morning, and treats and meals still give him a thrill. For obvious reasons, this big guy should not live with children or in an apartment, but a single person who is experienced with oversized, somewhat cranky dogs could be considered as an adopter. Zeus should have at least a modest-sized fenced yard to snuffle around in and, If he lives with any other animals, he must have his own separate space.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $100. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.
