Boomer is a funny little guy! He was terrified in the shelter and could not be handled, but after a short time in his foster home, he was playful and goofy. He will tell you what's on his mind and demand attention when he wants it! He'll nuzzle his way between your arm and your body to snuggle on your lap. Boomer enjoys watching out the window and will bark at all the passers by. Boomer's zoomies are the best - Boomer Zoomers!
Boomer is dachshund mix at about 5 years old and 20 lbs. He is neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations.
Boomer does not like being picked up and does not walk reliably on a leash. While we are working on these and he's made great progress, his adoptive home must have an attached fenced yard. He is not a fan of car rides; he'll want to be curled up in a lap.
Boomer would be fine as an only dog; if other dogs are in the home, he would do best with easy going or submissive pups. Boomer loves the little human boy in his foster home and would be great with kids that understand he cannot be picked up. Unknown how he'd do with cats, but LHS offers a 5 day trial to ensure a good fit.
His house training is going well - he does best when kept on a schedule, but he is close to roam free privileges in his foster home.
