My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Missy
Nicknames: Miss Thang, Snoot, Pibble, Gooby, Pretty Girl
Breed: Bulldog/Pit mix
Age: 5 Years
Weight: A perfect 45 lbs.
Before OMD: Missy found her way to us from a Southern rescue partner. She had trauma to her scapula at some point in her past, which was not properly addressed and caused her pain. Our vet felt that the best course of action was an amputation and Missy has recovered beautifully.
Energy Level: Intermittent medium. Napping is definitely her primary mode. She has frequent bursts of energy though and loves to wrestle/play for periods of ~ 20 minutes throughout the day (if only just to exhaust herself so she can enjoy another nap).
Animal Doppelganger: An oreo cow with supersonic hearing. She's all about munching grass and will hear the treat jar from anywhere.
Life mantra: Snacks, naps, and booty pats.
What we love: Her never ending desire to snuggle up to her humans. Her perfect pibble kisses. Her ability to outrun her foster siblings even though they all have a leg up on her (it's like the Fast and The Furious: Tripod Edition). When she wags her little tail so hard that her whole body wiggles.
What she loves: Humans ... humans who provide scratchies, to be precise. Toys of all kinds. Treats. Puppuccinos. Her leash - it means one of two great things, a walk or a car ride!
What makes us laugh: Her firm belief she's a human. She’s always hopping around on two legs, trying to give hugs, and sighs very dramatically when she feels she's not receiving the attention she oh so deserves.
We need to talk about: Her bark. It’s… well… indescribable. Trust us, you’ll understand when you hear it.
Speaking of that: You just may hear that seal/dinosaur bark when she's on leash and sees another dog. She's still working on her excitement on leash with other dogs.
She's also working on: Being a little less mouthy. Keeping four… er three on the floor. Her food thievery. Well, she’s not really working on it TBH, so this is really a human thing to work on.
What she knows: Sit. Wait. In.
Kids: Older kiddos only please. Her love is patient, her love is kind, her love is forceful and knows no bounds.
Dogs: Yes, if it's the right fit. She lives with two other dogs and does wonderfully, but is best matched with submissive, tolerant dogs.
Cats: Nope.
Crate-trained: Nope, but has been a perfect lady when left alone.
Housebroken: Yes!
Ideal forever home: Someone who is specifically looking for a pro-wrestling, Starbucks-drinking, lap-warming, serial napper. Someone who is patient and willing to continue working with Miss Thang's mouthing and leash manners.

Missy is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is available for adoption to CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting Missy, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
