Rose is a spayed three-year-old female Akbash mix who was residing in Utah. Her owners needed to find a new home for her because of a medical condition with her eye that they are unable to treat and maintain.
Rose is a sweet dog and is good with little children but not little dogs. She has had some interaction with a small goat, but not sheep. She interacts with an older dog that is a female border collie but can get aggressive towards her due to her lack of sight.
Her family adored her but could not afford medical care; She has a degenerative eye disease in which her eyes don't make enough tears. In short, her eyes are allergic to the sun and it is causing issues with her not being able to see and is making her more aggressive with the other dog in the home. In addition, the family lives in a small community (in town) and Rose's guardian breed barking is not appreciated.
Rose is good with cats and children (but due to her eye condition, it would be better if they were older mature children. She lived with a number of little kids). Her ideal home would also have a nice, larger fenced yard for her.
Rose's eye care requires that eye medication is put in her eyes daily - it is NOT a terribly expensive medication and gives her great relief.
