My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These siblings were born approximately June 2/21.

Chloe and Colby are very sweet kittens. They were rescued from an outdoor situation where they were probably born to an outdoor stray and the resident who found them called for some help to rescue them. They are still very shy of people in their foster home but will enjoy pets while eating. It may take some time for their new family to gain their trust but we feel in time they will settle down.

They will come and eat close to the humans and they do enjoy the company of the resident cat. They are getting used to the dog slowly.

They will definitely need a patient home most likely a quiet home would be best for these two. Please apply if interested in this pair. They would probably love a quiet home with another calm cat to show them the ropes.

Chloe and Colby is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue. The adoption donation is $325 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Grand River All Breed Rescue's adoption process involves an adoption application, reference checks, and discussion about the potential adoptive home, including a home visit. We follow this process as we do have a responsibility to ensure that we place each pet in a home that is suitable and committed to caring for the pet for the rest of its' life.

We match our rescues to their new homes, and filling out an adoption application, or proceeding with our adoption process does not guarantee the acceptance of an adoption application. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant for any reason, at our discretion.

Please note that once we begin an application, we hope to have it completed within a couple days, based upon availability, particularly of your references. We are just as excited to find our pets their forever home as you are to adopt!

All GRAB animal require an adoption donation. Our adoption donations help us to pay for the many costs associated with rescuing animals, including veterinary bills, food, litter and other pet supplies, and administrative costs. The majority of our animals are adopted out for less than what it cost us to rescue them, and we do not make money on our pets. All adoption donations go directly back into our account which allows us to continue rescuing animals.

Currently our adoption donation for dogs is $450 and for cats is $325. Rabbits are adopted out for $80 and are spayed or neutered. Please ask us about adoption fees for other small pets, including guinea pigs, degus, etc.

For dogs and cats, our adoption donation includes a veterinary exam, vaccines, deworming and flea treatment (if needed), spay or neuter and microchip.

Go meet their pets

Our pets are all located in foster homes and an application must be approved in order to meet one of our pets.

More about this rescue

As a non-profit animal rescue group our focus is:

To adopt dogs, cats and other companion animals into suitable homes.

To ensure that all dogs and cats placed by our rescue are spayed and neutered to ensure that we are not contributing to the pet overpopulation problem.

To promote responsible and healthy pet care, including humane training techniques and healthy diets.
to rescue animals from over-crowded shelters and the streets.

Our members are understanding and caring people who are pet owners and caregivers. They understand the care and attention that pets require but also how fulfilling (if occasionally challenging) a life with pets can be. We're not here just for the animals, but for their owners as well!
