Meet Bucky! A sweet, loyal puppy who joined Pathways Home Animal Rescue when we picked him up from County.
His foster family is dedicated and has been diligently training him. His forever family should also be dedicated to ongoing obedience training. He would do best with at least one adult around most of the time.
His demeanor around others is predictable in the sense that he is hesitant with some people at first; will bark, and maybe growl but then Bucky warms right up with a little bit of time. We know he is friendly with males, females, children and other dogs. Cats are unknown. Most importantly, Bucky is a puppy and needs direction and ample toys designed for puppy chewers because we are confident that he will chew things that he isn't supposed to if he isn't provided with safe chew toys!
Bucky likes a car ride, and his dream is to be a lap dog. He loves to play with toys and hoard them in his secret places. He will alert you when someone comes to your door, or a stranger approaches.
He sheds a little bit, but not a lot. He knows: sit, lay down, drop (a toy), walks and runs on leash, allows brushing, comfortable with the baja step of the pool and is working on stay, off, and leave-it.
Bucky's foster family describe him as having the sweetest heart ever. He demands attention and an owner he can be loyal to.
His favorite pastimes are carrying toys around the house and hoarding them all in his crate, or outside by the sliding glass door. He is a bit goofy with his oversized puppy feet. Considering his age, he is one of the most obedient puppies the foster family has ever had, which has made training easier.
IDEAL HOME:
1) An adult home most of the time who will develop a loyal friendship and continue obedience training .
2) A fenced backyard where he can run and play.
3) A family who understands the needs of a dog who is 6-8 months old and will help this dog continue to thrive.
If you are interested in meeting Bucky, please complete our adoption application at this link: https://forms.gle/5TfektCJSY6JCK6x8 . Meet and greets will be set up on approved application.
