Introducing Greta (7 years old) & Gerti (5 years old).
Greta (mom) is a schnauzer and Gerti (daughter) is a schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix).
This sweet mom and daughter pair have been together since the day Gerti was born, about 5 years ago and that's how they want to keep it! Mama Greta is 7-8 years old and is such a good mama to her little girl, and oh does Gerti love her mama! They are very bonded and love being close to each other.
Greta came into the rescue extremely overweight and in need of ACL surgery. Her foster mommy worked very hard to help her lose the weight she needed in order to be able to have the surgery. She has gone from 34 pounds down to her “bikini body” weight of 25 pounds and has had a successful surgery and is loving life!
They both absolutely LOVE their daily walks and their new family will need to be dedicated to continuing their walks and keeping them both healthy and trim! Portion control and healthy food is essential for them, as well as healthy snacks (carrot tidbits and frozen green beans, along with low carb treats).
Both girls are so sweet, extremely affectionate and love attention and snuggles…Gerti is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly once she feels comfortable and safe. They are well behaved, easy keepers and very eager to please!
If you know schnauzers, you know just how 'human' they can be and how much they love their people, so will do best with at least one family member home most of the time and would love a fenced in yard to wander around in!
Any children should be at least 12 years old and of a gentle and respectful nature. Gerti is a bit shy and scared, so we would prefer a calm environment for their new home.
Both girls have had dentals (teeth cleaned) and Greta had successful ACL surgery! These two are ready for their forever home!
The adoption fee for the pair is $500.00. They both are spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. They will go to their new home with collars, harnesses and leashes.
