UPDATE 1/26/10: Buster trusts his foster Mom even more now and he allows her to approach him from behind and pick him up. He is eating well, is housebroken, and will go to the door to tell you that he needs to go potty. Buster is very sweet and loves to give kisses! He has come a long way since arriving in foster care 3 weeks ago, from scared non-trusting dog to sweet loving boy!
Buster (aka Poppi) is a 12 year old red smooth dachshund looking for his new forever home. He was afraid of most everyone when he first came from the shelter, but after a few days in his foster home he learned that he could trust his foster Mom. At first he seemed to be afraid to go out the door, so he had to be picked up to go outside and potty. After just over a week in his foster home, Buster seems to have the housebreaking concept down. He seems to have some hearing loss; he doesn’t look when called and gets scared if you approach him from behind. He follows his foster Mom everywhere, and now that he has learned to trust her he likes to be held and petted. Buster doesn’t play with toys, but he likes to play with the other dogs in his foster home, including the puppies! As we learn more about Buster, his bio will be updated.
Buster is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $150 and he is being fostered in Philadelphia, PA. For more information, please email his CCDR representative at 609-868-0875 or jeire@comcast.net.
