Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Scout is a tiny little Parti Yorkie fella only weighing 4 pounds. He is only 18 months old and being fostered in Vestavia Hills, AL. Scout will need to be adopted no more than 150 miles from his foster home.
Bio updated 12/21/2021:
Scout is an 18-month-old parti Yorkie. Scout is an energetic little fella (only weighing 4 pounds) and loves playing with other dogs. Sadly, Scout did not receive the upbringing that he deserved. He had been neglected and came to us with a history of being food-deprived. Some of Scout's behaviors indicate that he was also abused.
Scout is now available for adoption……and what a difference a month makes!! While Scout is full of energy he also loves to be cuddled while napping. He really enjoys playing with his foster sister golden retriever. Scout loves going on neighborhood walks and being with his humans. Scout has made some progress on house training, but this is still an area of growth. Although he has been working hard to use the restroom outside with his foster siblings, he still needs a belly band indoors and has adjusted well to wearing them.
It still takes Scout some time to warm up to new humans and it takes time for him to earn their trust. But despite these challenges, Scout is a lovable little fella that brings his people much joy.
Updated bio 12-2-21 Sweet little Scout has been neutered, and he got a great report from the vet and is home resting quietly. Check back often for more updates as Scout learns more about walking on a leash and becoming house trained.
Scout is an energetic little fella and loves playing with other dogs. Sadly, Scout did not receive the upbringing that he deserved. He had been neglected and came to us with a history of being food-deprived. Some of Scout's behaviors indicate that he was also abused. It takes time for Scout to develop trust in humans and he finds new experiences scary. He prefers to come to the humans for interaction instead of his humans approaching him. Despite this, Scout is a joyful pup and has a lifetime to bond with a perfect family. He will need a new family that is very patient with him and allow him to adjust and trust them. Scout currently uses pee pads and follows his foster siblings outside to use the restroom. His current foster family has been working with him on being house trained and he is working hard.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE APPLYING TO ADOPT SCOUT:
- Due to Scout's small size he cannot be adopted into a home with a child 12 years old or less.
- Scout must be adopted within a 150-mile range from his foster home in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
- Because of Scout's previous neglect, he will need a forever home that will be very patient in gaining his trust and building a lasting relationship.
