Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Max!
Max is a typical puppy in that he loves to play with both dogs and toys.
He thinks he is a lap dog and will jump up on your lap.
He walks well on a leash and gets excited when he sees the leash.
He was found being attacked by two other dogs and was saved! His rescuer took him to the vet but was unable to keep him. She contacted our rescue partners in Texas for help. He just arrived in Northwest Indiana looking for a new start!
Basics: He is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 16 lbs. We have his neuter scheduled in a few months at our partner vet in Cedar Lake, IN. Adopter must be willing to travel back for the neuter.
Adoption Process:
- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- one of our team members will reach out via phone
- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
