Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available for adoption or foster to adopt - Burlington, VT
Meet little Lucy ! Weighing in at only 18lbs this beautiful female is only 20 months. Lucy has a gorgeous Aussie fluff with a precious Merle face and golden light brown eyes. Another dog would be best for Lucy she loves to play. Lucy has lots of energy and needs a home who wants to keep her mentally and physically exercised! She is not a couch potato lap dog. This girl loves to work and gets bored if you don't give her an outlet for her energy. Lucy loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by. Daily outings like walks, car rides or accompanying her humans at work Lucy enjoys. She has a beautiful puppy spirit and would be perfect with a family with children 10+. Agility training would be a huge plus for her because she is highly trainable and food motivated. Lucy knows Basics commands such as sit, up, down, go to your crate and leave it. Lucy is learning how to fetch but is having a tough time bringing it back to you. She enjoys small frisbees , toys that squeak and bones. Lucy Loves other dogs to play and run but will resource guard high value bones. Lucy respects other dogs food bowls and toys. I've been successfully working on this but she will need further support. She sleeps well in her crate overnight (from about 10pm-6am) but doesn't like to be crated for long periods of time during the day . Lucy knows the command for crating . Lucy is respectful of the house and does not need to be crated when left alone. She rides nicely in the car. Gets easily distracted on walks. Lucy has reservations on new people entering her home but will eventually warm up. Lucy like humans of all sizes . Her energy level, temperament and intelligence are typical of a herding breed dog (likes to work, play and be involved) She is food and toy motivated. Lucy doesn't take treats politely . Lucy still puppy bites when playing but is easily corrected. *Utd on vaccines and spayed. Not cat tested. *Housebroken trained for a dog door. *Adopter must utilize positive reinforcement training techniques only (no aversive tools or techniques) a basic puppy class would be suitable. Lucy is currently fostered in Burlington, Vermont If you think that Lucy is a great fit for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
