Meet Zara! Zara is an adorable 1-year-old beagle who came into rescue when her previous family realized they couldn't give her the exercise and attention she needed. Zara is now ready to find her perfect forever family!
This cute little girl is all puppy! She loves to run around the yard and regularly gets zoomies. She has a huge basket of toys and makes sure to take them all out and play with each and every one of them throughout the day. If it squeaks, it’s her best friend! Zara just recently turned a year old and is still learning what is appropriate to put in her mouth. If things are left out for her to get into she will take shoes and other items that don’t belong to her. Sometimes she can be redirected and traded for a toy of her own, but it’s important for Zara’s forever family to puppy proof and make sure she has plenty of toys and chews of her own accessible. She also can be very mouthy and will lightly gnaw on people’s hands. Because of this she would be best suited in a home with older kids or adults only.
Zara loves her walks and needs lots of daily activity to burn off her puppy energy. She walks pretty well on leash with the use of a harness and is up for any adventure. She does well in the car, too, and would be a great road trip and hiking companion. Once she’s tired she enjoys cuddling in bed and on the couch with her people. She likes to know that her family is around but she also has her independent moments where she will happily play on her own or sunbathe in the yard.
Zara LOVES other dogs and would be very happy to have another playful dog in her forever home. She does very well at the dog park and having playdates, although she can be a lot of energy for older dogs as she wants to wrestle and play a lot. Zara would also do well as an only as long as she gets lots of exercise and playtime with other dogs.
