** Can be adopted alone or as a companion to another cat ** Sweet cats like Coco have stories about why second chances and a lot of love are so important. This lovely 2.5-year-old tabby girl was found homeless a year and a half ago, living under an abandoned house, lonely and hungry and just needing loving care. We brought her to our shelter, where she could cuddle up in a warm place, had good food, and was taken to the vet for care. She quickly made friends with our other friendly cats. Having lived on the streets, though, she was initially afraid of our volunteers. But all that started to change this summer, when she slowly started accepting treats and pets and came to understand that humans can be friends, too.

Coco is still very shy, but now she’s in a foster home, where she loves playing with her foster brothers (you can see her cozying up with them in the photos), and is getting used to the good life with human companions. This sweet girl will take time and patience to trust, but she is such a sweetheart we know that if she could find a quiet home with patient, openhearted people and a friendly kitty friend she will continue to blossom. We think Coco is a very special girl, and we know you’ll think so, too. Please meet her!
