Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Macy is a very loving, lazy, and sweet little girl! She will always greet you by the 'thump, thump, thump' of her tail…trust me, you'll know what I mean pretty quick. She will follow you room to room but isn't necessarily a velcro dog (she's lazy but don't tell her that).
Macy especially loves her evening walks and does well on a leash. She's also wonderful in a car and knows a few basic commands. Do you know what toys are for? Because Macy has no clue and definitely needs a loving family to show her!
Her favorite thing so far is eating! It's certainly the key to a girl's heart. She would probably eat an entire bag of food if given the chance, although this silly habit likely stems from her not-so-happy days of being a stray.
Poor Macy was found completely skin and bones by a shelter in August. Not only that, she had two masses that had to be removed, so she's definitely been through a lot during her 6 years. Lets give her the best for the rest of her days!
She would do well with the outdoors. She has shown that she will stay by your side when off leash ONLY as long as there are no distractions (we're still testing this). She still has a long way to go with off-leash training, but she shows promise. The only bad thing with her being off-leash is that she seems to be very aggressive toward her territory. She does NOT like new dogs being in her yard or home, and has shown aggression. We cannot stress this enough, despite her happy-go-lucky demeanor. That being said, please be careful when introducing her to a new pet. She had no problem when we first got her but she got comfortable pretty quick and thinks her place is extra special. She does not seem to have this issue with people, just pets. She also doesn't seem to have the same problem in social settings like the park, but we are still getting to know her. She had no problem while walking through the park and meeting other dogs her size.
At home, Macy seemed to do fine at first with our other dog since he's a very lazy pup, too. The only time she worried us was when our dog got the zoomies and is VERY loud when he plays. We think she thought he was attacking us and she did NOT like that. She hasn't shown any problems after being around him for two months (he's realized he needs to be a little quieter with her), but I recommend monitoring Macy with other dogs until she gets used to her new home.
Macy is a wonderful girl and deserves the best. We know that she will do very well with just about any family. She has had some major life changes recently, and seems to be able to adjust to any setting. Please be patient with this wonderful girl. We are tempted to even keep her, but we can't keep them all! Hopefully you will be her furever home, instead.
