Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Chelsea
Breed: Dutch Shepherd
DOB/Sex: 04/16/2018/FS
Known medical concerns:**SPECIAL NEEDS: Chelsea has been diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy. She requires medication twice a day. She also has been recently diagnosed with urinary incontinence. She gets a pill currently every 3 days. She is extremely easy to medicate. Both medications are life-long, and require regular bloodwork (every 6 months).
Good with: Most dogs in a controlled situation. Calm, older children, that can actively participate in her training, and understand boundaries. NO CATS. NO DOG PARKS.
Chelsea is an active, young Dutch Shepherd who just hasn't found her right home.
Chelsea arrived extremely uncomfortable and intimidated by other dogs. She's been through at least two previous homes, and was unable to stay in those homes due to inter-dog issues. However since her arrival she has blossomed and gone from simply tolerating dogs in her space, to enjoying playing with them, and has really opened up. I suspect she won't be a fan of every dog, but with a properly matched companion, gets along quite well. She prefers to interact with her human, but will happily share her space with other well-mannered dogs.
She loves her ball, will fetch for days, and apparently also the hose! She athletic, fit, and nice size for sporting. She has had the opportunity to try out Lure Coursing at LaliberteFarm, and LOVES it! She had also started Dock Diving at K9 Fun Zone, and is also enjoying it immensely. She currently has a PB of 22'3" and is in the 8 sec range for speed. She did well at an intro to flyball course, and would love to continue! Disc would be right up her alley as well. This girl loves whatever challenges you throw at her, and would love to find a home that is going to continue to give her new ways to excel!
Chelsea is a workaholic, and always ready to go! She's the type of dog, that I can let someone else work for the first time, and she's happy to do so. True to the breed this athletic girl is confident, and picks up things super quick. She is so ready to find her family so she can truly blossom. Anything and everything, she is up for it!
If she sounds like the dog for you, please reach out to start the application process.
