Meet Khan! This gorgeous guy is ready to find his forever home, and he wants his new family to know these 10 things about him:
1. I am a Presa Canario, and I am a super senior.
2. I had a terrible life before rescue, but I have made incredible improvements since coming to The Bullpen. Although many of my health issues have resolved now that I’m getting proper care and nutrition, I still have the usual senior concerns like occasional joint stiffness and declining vision. I don’t let it bother me one bit though, and I hope that my new home will love me just as I am.
3. Given my age, I would like to find a home on the quieter side where I can spend my golden years. An adults-only home would be ideal, but I also think I could live in a home with children over 13, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious.
4. I wouldn’t mind if my new people had a female dog that I could hang out with, as long as she wasn’t too small.
5. I’m not sure how I feel about felines. Sometimes I bark at the barn cats at the sanctuary, but mostly I ignore them. I think I could probably live in a home with cats, as long as we had a slow introduction.
6. The words that best describe me are sweet, laid-back, and affectionate.
7. My favorite things are sunbathing, eating, and hanging out with humans.
8. I am housebroken, crate-trained, and a perfect gentleman on a leash.
9. I am fully vaccinated and microchipped, and I will be neutered as soon as I am healthy enough for surgery.
10. I am heartworm positive, but I’ve started treatment, and will come with all the medicine needed to complete it at my new home.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
