Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kevin is a spunky, affectionate and irresistible little boy. Everyone who meets him falls in love!
He is 1 year old, neutered and 10 lbs. He appears to be a miniature rat terrier, a breed described as friendly, lovable and inquisitive and that is a perfect description of little Kevin.
Earlier this year, he was brought into a vet clinic by a Good Samaritan after being hit by a car. He had a broken left humerus (upper arm bone) in 3 pieces and he had to have two surgeries with a board-certified surgeon to get it fixed. He's had several months of healing (he was fostered by a veterinarian) and now he's back to 100%!
He is so much fun to have around, playful and feisty and a happy little guy all the time.
He is completely healthy, neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed and negative for heartworms and intestinal parasites.
He is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained and super smart. He would love to learn tricks and more.
He is a small dog so we recommend only small breed housemates (big dogs can hurt small dogs accidentally). Kevin has been friendly with every dog he's been introduced to, but hasn't had a lot of chances to play with other dogs because he was healing from his surgery.
Kevin is a sweet and friendly little boy, but he just has to be slowly introduced to people to get to know them (just a few treats and a let-him-come-to-you investigation is all he needs).
He is great with our 12 year-old kids, but small children can be too much for a little dog so we would recommend only older kids.
He is friendly with cats, but he is inquisitive so he would need a cat who is not annoyed by dogs.
This charming, energetic, handsome little fellow will light up some very lucky adopter's life!

He is being fostered in Texas by a veterinarian. The $200 adoption fee covers transport to NJ. Visit animalkare.org to fill out an application or for more details email info@animalkare.org.
