Hi humans, I'm Buddy! I travelled all the way to Toronto from a First Nations Community in Manitoba, and I absolutely love humans. That’s why I’m so excited and ready to meet my forever family!
My fosters pawrents describe me as mellow, super sweet, and loving. They’re right. Nothing makes me happier than being near my favourite humans, and I will grunt and snore and make funny noises in my sleep to show how relaxed and comfortable I am with you. I don’t bark very much. In fact, my foster pawrents haven’t even heard me bark once! That's how chilled out I am!
Everyone constantly tells me how gorgeous and handsome I am and how silky my fur coat is. I get compliments from strangers all the time! I always reciprocate by giving appreciative sniffs and kisses. I will also let them give me lots of scratches - I just LOVE them! I am fully house-trained and have had no accidents at home at all. I like to be taken out 3-4 times a day. My favourite activity is laying around at home on my warm, cozy bed. When I go out, I walk well on a leash, and I’m not reactive, unless maybe I see a squirrel! If you are stern with me and redirect my attention, I will always get back on track. I’m a quick learner.
I prefer being around my favourite people at home and because I love you so much, I may get a bit anxious when I'm left alone. I need a bit of help becoming more independent and confident during times that I might have to stay alone for a bit. I think It’s best if someone is home often, or if there's another dog friend at home to keep me company. I absolutely love other dogs, so that would be great!
I like belly rubs too and my foster pawrents tell me I get a goofy look on my face when I get them. I don’t know what they mean - I’m just grinning! I don’t care very much for toys right now. I’m also learning new commands. I know sit, down, and shake paw already. I’m learning to check my impulse to run out the door with a new ‘wait’ command, and my foster pawrents are amazed at how easily I am at picking it up! All I want to do is make my humans happy.
I would ideally do well in a house with a backyard but really, all that matters to me is YOU! I have been through a lot in my life in Manitoba, and I am hoping I can find my forever home soon because I have so much love to give and I am a certified good boy!
