My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Agera and her three siblings have had a rough start in life and are looking for that perfect forever home where the rest of their days will be smooth sailing. We were contacted by some kind folks that found them in a box on the street. We have since affectionately referred to them as the “boxed set”.

Agera is a very happy pup with a sweet personality, albeit a little shy to start. She has high energy and loves playing with her doggie roommates, and the kitties if they will let them. She loves people, dogs, cats….pretty much every creature they have encountered so far. Agera will make a wonderful companion.

Unfortunately, Agera has major issues with her legs. We believe it is a congenital defect, but have no way of knowing for sure. Her femur and tibia bones have developed curved instead of straight, and the patella (knee cap) on both sides is not located in the proper location. She does not have the strength in her back legs, or the structural integrity to walk normally. The only fix will be corrective surgery, and most likely amputation of one leg, which cannot be done until she is done growing. She will be having surgery to address the problem, and will not be ready for adoption until that has been completed. In addition to being intense and invasive, the surgery will also be very expensive, so we are looking to do a lot of fundraising to help with her expenses.

Agera may stray from being a perfect physical example, she would absolutely return all the love you give her. We know there is a special family for her that will look beyond her physical limitations and see what a great dog she is.
