My story

In Mechanicsville, NY
This 8 month-old sweetheart is Rocko! He does great with kids of all ages. He greets new people with tail wags and sweetness. He loves people and following them around the house, but his real happy place is running. He will thrive in a BIG fenced back yard with tons of room to run and a playmate of the canine variety Ideally a non-dominant, easy going female. Without proper exercise, he will try to herd you and your kids.

Rocko knows sit, paw, lay, stay, and leave it. He also fetches balls and toys, but only indoors so far (outside is too exciting to bother with toys, apparently). He is a smart boy and learns things quickly.

Coming from an outdoor background, he is still solidifying some house manners, but has house-training down pat and is also crate trained. He loves being outdoors and does fairly well on a leash. He has a strong prey drive, but has been doing much better with ‘leave it’ even with squirrels and chipmunks.

He does not have great off-leash recall—so this boy needs to stay in fenced areas or leashed until he’s had more training in that regard.

He would truly be an awesome addition to any family—ideally one with another dog, and someone who works from home or is home during the day so he can get the attention and exercise he needs.
