My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org

My hairytage is a combination of two awesome breeds; the most popular dog in the Western world, the Labrador Retriever, and the dog of multiple talents, the Black Mouth Cur.

I definitely got my size from the Labrador side of my family weighing in at a healthy 85 pounds of power and personality. I love peoples and would love to be someone's hiking or running buddy.

At only one year of age, I have a lot of learning to do and a lifetime ahead of me in which to do it!! I need a hooman that is patient and kind to guide me through my formative years. I really want to be the best dog possible, I just need someone to show me how that looks!!

By nature, I am sweet and loving. I will do best in an active home with an owner that can establish boundaries and spend time with me. A large yard where I can run and daily runs or hikes are in order. I am high energy (heck, I am just a really BIG puppy!!) and need activity to keep me happy and healthy.

I get along with other dogs and my favorite thing is to spend time with my hooman.

According to Wikipedia. " Black Mouth Curs are a short-haired ranch dog with a sweet personality. A jack of all trades, the Black Mouth Cur is a “utility” dog often used for hunting, herding, and other jobs. He became popular with early American settlers in need of help on their farms and ranches."

Wikipedia has this to say about the Labrador side of my hairytage;" Labs are Among the dog world’s most versatile dogs, Labs can do almost anything. They are exuberant, friendly and highly intelligent. Though they’re famously laid-back, Labs were made to run, swim, and work."

So, there you have it!! I get my boundless energy from both sides of my working dog ancestors. I just need a hooman to help me learn how to best channel my energy for good.

If you are looking for a big puppy capable of big things in life, I am your Gal!!!
