Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dorito is between 1 and 2 years old and was surrendered to us because, after his owners got a new puppy, he began to hide and urinate outside the litter box. We noticed that he walked a little funny, fell over sometimes, and was just overall clumsy, so a trip to the vet was in order. Unfortunately, while x-rays did not show any damage to his hips or legs, the vet determined that he was not visual and that his issues appeared to be neurological in nature. We're not sure if Dorito was born being unable to see, or if some sort of accident or trauma caused neurological damage, but he is not in pain and, for the most part, gets around just fine.
He does have a tendency to weave around people's legs and trip them up, so he would not be a good fit for someone that does not get around well or would be seriously injured if they tripped or fell. He's a very sweet cat and loves pettings and being around people but does not like being held. Because he can't see, he doesn't always realize boundaries or that other cats are annoyed with him, and so he would do best either as the only cat or with cats that play well with others. He gets picked on a lot by the other cats. He needs a special home that is open to (and preferably has experience with) the challenges of having a blind cat.
