Orville is ready to find his new home! Orville (or Orvi as he is called by his foster mom) came to us from our local city shelter. He was found as a stray, practically hairless from fleas and his skin was just a mess. The staff there got him on the road to recovery and now little Orvie is ready for his new life to begin! He is about 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. We believe he is a Cairn Terrier mix - his coat was shaved due to matts but it is longer and soft!
Orvi is a laid back kinda dog. He prefers to hang out in a bed or blanket with the other little dogs in his foster home. Oh and he LOVES the floor heater on these cold cold mornings! He prefers the older, calmer dogs in the home and will tell the active little puppies to stay out of his face. He gives them a growl and they know he is not up for fun and games. Orvi is not a fan of being picked up by people unless he has his leash on. Once it is on, he is comfortable and he is very happy to go for a walk! He will allow you to pick him up when he trusts you too. We do not know much about his past but he clearly needed to learn to trust people again. He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and enjoys it but we do not think it will be a requirement for his new home. There was some marking in his foster home but he is now neutered. Please expect some accidents. Orville has been introduced to cats and had no issues. He has not been introduced to kids but we think older (teenage) would be fine. Orvi is happy when it is treat time! He is also interested in people food his foster mom makes and when he gets cheese, he is so happy! Treats have been a key to getting him to trust and love. Orvi is s typical terrier and will be a nice addition to a quieter home.
Orville is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $400
