Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Cashew, She is a 2-year-old Pointer/Beagle mix. Cashew has a short hair coat and was found as a stray. She weighs 45lbs. Cashew is just a wonderful dog. She will make a great family pet. She loves people, including the vets and other dogs. We have not heard Cashew bark yet so we can attest to her being a very quiet dog. She has more pointer than beagle in her. She does not follow her nose and her recall is very good. Cashew is great with all-size dogs and enjoys their company. We do not know if she is good with cats so are seeking a cat-free home. Cashew has a huge appetite so it is important to measure out her food twice daily. She currently eats 1 cup twice daily. This gal has not shown any chewing or destructive behaviour. What she can do with ease is jump over gates. She can clear 3 feet wooden fence with ease. For this reason, she will require a 6-foot high wooden fencing in her yard. Cashew is gentle and friendly and takes treats very nicely. She was fostered the first week with a family with children and was excellent. She rides well in the car. She will require more leash work but loves to go anywhere with her family. She is a minimum shedding dog. The ideal home for this sweet gal is one where she gets to be involved with family activities on a regular basis both indoor and outdoor. Due to how good she is with other dogs, the practice of continued socialization must occur. This is a trait you don't want her to lose. One must love and allow for lots of doggie kisses and hugs. Cashew is spayed, up to date with vaccines and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Her 4 dx test revealed a positive diagnosis for Lyme disease so she is on a course of 28 days of doxycycline and then she is done with the treatment. A fully fenced yard with a minimum of 6-foot high fencing, a cat-free home, and a Veterinarian History of Compliance is mandatory to apply for our Cashew.
