My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beagle | *age to be determined* | Male | 30 lbs | Owner Surrender
*We cannot guarantee breed nor age

Temperament: Sweet and well socialized.
Activity Level: Medium. Chill at home and playful during walks and playtime. Happy with two 30 min walks a day but capable of longer walks or hikes because he is in great shape.
Vetting: Core vaccines (dh2pp, Bordetella and Rabies). Neutered, microchipped, dewormed, fecal - negative, on tick/heartworm and flea prevention. 4dx negative for tick related diseases and heartworm disease.
Housebroken: Mostly. Has had some accidents in new environments.
Good with Dogs: Excellent.
Good with Cats: No.
Good with Children: Yes, but too strong for young children to walk him on a leash if he spys a squirrel!
Any noted prey drive: Squirrels.
How do they respond to the outdoors: Fine with city noises, people, and other animals. A typical beagle, he prefers sniffing around than playing all the time. Walks well on a leash and heels at stop lights. Busy streets don’t bother him.
Crate-Trained: Working on it and doing very well.
Any resource guarding: Only one incident observed over a toy (growling only) likely due to a big change in Billy's environment at the time, and it has not happened again.
Response to commands: Working on his sit, stay, come, and lay down commands. He’s doing great and just needs positive reinforcement and has responded well to this. His training needs are easy for anyone to continue themselves as he is so well behaved.
Are they vocal: Exceptionally quiet at home and when walking except when he sniffs or spies a squirrel.
Leash etiquette: Walks well on leash, the only exception is when he sniffs or spies a squirrel and you have to redirect him.
Transportation: Billy was well behaved on the subway.
*Billy’s bio may change as we get to know him better.
*Billy comes with 6 weeks of pet insurance totally $500 and 2 online group training classes.

Everyone needs a Billy Beagle! This handsome dude is the perfect pupper – for real. While we are unsure of his exact age, we know he plays and acts like a youngster. This beagle mix comes with the very best manners. Except when he sees those pesky squirrels of course...

Billy is doing exceptionally well with his foster: Quiet? Check. Loves to snuggle? Check. Good with dogs? Check. Walks well on leash? Check – ok mostly. He can get a bit excited when he spots those darned squirrels, then he needs a bit of redirection. He is still learning about his crate but his foster says he is adapting very well, and will have meals and even a quick nap in it.

As a typical beagle, Billy prefers to spend his outdoors sniffing around rather than playing fetch. He is good with dogs and children. His foster takes him on 2 moderate walks a day, but notes that Billy is very fit and would likely enjoy longer hikes with the right people. After a long day of sniffing and tracking he is happy to have supper and then a well-earned sleep on the couch. He doesn’t bark indoors and is learning to signal when he needs to y’know; “go”. He is very regular that way! He’s a quick learner and is progressing nicely with basic commands. Public transit is a breeze with this sweetheart.

Billy is currently fostered in a condo and doing extremely well – a yard would be nice but not necessary as long as he gets his exercise. A sweet handsome pup like Billy is sure to melt the hearts of everyone who meets him. With his excellent manners and gentle disposition, this boy is pretty much perfect already.
