Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please meet Tater! The most adorable 4 month old Golden Retriever you will ever meet. We were asked by a local shelter to help a litter of puppies who were surrendered because they were born with Pectus Excavatum - a congenital defect where the ribs and sternum do not grow properly. This deformity results in a concave chest and causes compression of the heart and lungs. Difficult breathing, exercise intolerance and heart issues/disease can all develop. These puppies have seen a surgeon, radiologist, and cardiologist to determine the extent of the defect, treatment, and prognosis. At this point Tater who has been diagnosed with very minimal Pectus Excavatum which may not be of clinical significance is healthy enough to be adopted.
Tater's ideal forever home would be one with a family who is home often so he can receive endless amounts of love and attention. We will also be requiring another dog in Tater's forever home as a live-in playmate to help with socialization and puppy manners! If you are interested in making Tater a forever family member please head over to our website www.roversretreat.org to fill out an adoption application.
Please note: Tater is being fostered in West Hills, CA.
