My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ryder is being fostered in MA. Transport help is available.

October 2022 update from Ryder's foster dad:

Ryder is an amazing friendly boy who is looking for a new family. Though Ryder has been blind for much of his life it doesn’t show in his daily activities. He LOVES to be outside and exploring. One of his favorite things to do is play tug of war. His strength is amazing and just tugs and tugs and….We have worked on his use of stairs going both up and down and he has a pretty good understanding of what to do. He is genuinely a very happy dog.

Ryder does very well in the house when left alone. He is not destructive and is completely potty trained. He will howl for a few minutes when left alone but settles down. He travels well and prefers to be off leash (if in a safe area to do so). His leash walking needs some improvement but he is very trainable given the proper attention. He does play really with other dogs (sighted and blind) and isn’t aggressive. Some of Ryder’s favorite toys include Benebones, fabric tug toys, tennis balls (he does fetch if in a small area), and Kong squeaker tennis balls. He has been in a variety of situations (college campus walks, boardwalk strolls, woodsy trail walks, open fields, strolling down sidewalks/bikepaths, new homes to explore, etc.) and has excelled in each.

Ryder is fostered in Worcester MA and transport can be arranged. He will make a great addition to your family. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
