Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BAILEY: 4 year old black Lab mix female spayed 74 lbs
Background: Bailey was surrendered to a shelter as her family needed to move from their house to an apartment where dogs are not allowed. Her prior family said she was an outside dog.
From Bailey’s Foster: Bailey is a wonderful, sweet Lab who is very affectionate and playful. Her lovely black coat has brown highlights which are noticeable in the sunlight. Bailey loves to play ball, go to the dog park, and play with our own Lab. She is a high energy dog and needs a lot of exercise. Her favorite entertainment is for the humans to throw a ball for her, but if they are busy, then she'll play by herself with the ball-on-a-rope, a Kong or a Nylabone. Once exercised, she will chill out in the living room with our dog or outside in the yard.
Bailey was an outside dog previously and thus is learning how to behave inside a home. While she still needs some reminders, she's made tremendous progress. Bailey sleeps in her crate the whole night through. She has learned sit, down, go potty and "where is your toy". We are working on stay and leash training. She is a very intelligent dog.
Bailey will make a wonderful addition to a family that has the patience and experience to train this amazing dog.
From Bailey’s Rescue Rep: Bailey is a good sweet dog who loves everyone she meets. She has a lot of energy and would be good for someone who is quite active. She loves to retrieve. She wants to please and is treat motivated. We are working on teaching her to have a soft mouth when taking treats. Bailey would benefit from an obedience class to reinforce as well as learn new basic commands. She does very well playing with other dogs. Bailey would do well in a home as the only dog or in a home with another dog that welcomes her playfulness. Any kids must be teenage and older. No cats in the home please.
Lab Rescue is looking for an experienced Lab adopter who has the time and willingness to continue the training and exercise that the fosters are currently providing.
Medical: Bailey is spayed, current on vaccs, Heartworm negative and microchipped.
Bailey is located in: Belmont.
If you are interested in adopting Bailey, please email Sandy at 2crazy4dogs@gmail.com and tell me why your home would be a good fit for Bailey.
Please note our service area: GGLRR serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
