My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Hatchi, a beautiful Husky with gorgeous blue eyes. She is 6 years old and has an incredibly soft hair coat. She weighs 47lbs. Hatchi is an extremely quiet and affectionate gal. She is gentle and friendly with everyone. She is great with all dogs, very social. She enjoys puppies too but can play a bit too rough with them. She has ignored the parrots in their cages but wouldn't trust her with them if they were out. Three days after arriving in foster care, Hatchi suffered a seizure. She had a few before we got her to the vet. The Vet advised that there is no medication that can stop them but the medicine that exists is to limit the amount they have. Since going on the medication, Hatchi had not had one seizure. She has had bloodwork before the meds and a few times after and it remains normal. The medicine she is on twice daily is just over $1.00 a day so very inexpensive. Hatchi has a good appetite but has a sensitive stomach. She does well on food with grain, currently on Go Salmon with Healthy Grains. She is fed 1 1/4 cups twice daily with her medicine. Hatchi is house trained and pee pad trained. She takes treats gently from your hand. She enjoys being brushed and is a big shedder due to her breed. Hatchi sleeps on the bed with his foster parents until she gets warm them jumps off. She loves the cooler weather and we know she will love being in the snow. She doesn't get sick in the car but needs to be securely fastened as she wants to get up and kiss the people in the front. She does not need a crate but does require lots of chew toys as she will get bored if left alone. Hatchi will require work on a leash and a body harness as she has not had any training in this regard. She would do very well in obedience classes. Hatchi is not a barker, she will talk to you when it's time to eat or if you get her very excited. She is light on her feet and can jump on the bed with ease. Hatchi loves children but would do best with older children as she gets too excited and would bowl them over. This is one sweet pup and some vets have said she is 6 years old some say 8 but whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will fall totally in love with her. The ideal home for Hatchi would be one with a calmer environment, not a lot of activity within it. She is great with routine and a family that walks her twice daily would be perfect. Hatchi is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4DX tested negative, on Phenobarb for seizures, and on Revolution for heartworm/flea/tick prevention. A fully fenced yard (minimum 5 feet high), a cat-free home, and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory in order to apply for our Hatchi.
