Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Theo, this handsome fella is available for adoption in the Washington state area....
What were you for Halloween? I was a lion, but not the roar kind, more of the cowardly lion one from that movie with the scary green chick. But just like him, in the end, I’m facing my fears and getting braver every day thanks to the efforts of my Foster Mom.
My life started off with me being a hermit. Or I guess a hermutt in my case. My first owner had me living in Fort Worf Texas and we really didn’t socialize properly. My Foster Mom lives in Washington area near beaches and it turns out being a hermutt crab is more than appropriate because the place I feel most at home at is the water.
I love the beach. I guess that’s why I’m the color of sand, so blendy. But I am lion...lying...a bit. I’m not actually a hermutt crab, I’m a 5-6 year old 60 lb Pitbull named Theo. I came from a sad situation but after 3 months with Foster Mom, I’m actually seeking her companionship and cuddles now.
I am looking for an adoptive home with the same level of compassion and patience that my Foster Home has. Every day you’ll get to see me bloom like a sunflower and you’ll be patting yourself on the back on my progress. You should probably even treat yo self to a fancy meal....with doggie bag of course.....once a week for all your hard effort.
I will litterally jump through hoops to please you. Furreal,
I am crate trained and I have learned sit, down, jump over a bar, jump through a hoop, and I’m learning so much more! I love playing tug and chasing the flirt pole. I love toys. I love being a good boy and making Foster Mom smile.
The cowardly lion part comes in because I’m scared of most dogs. I ignore them, I don’t want them close by. Foster Mom puts a message on my collar that tells others to keep a comfortable distance.
Howlever, I do get used to dogs once I know they are not planning to hurt me. I now play with my two foster fur girl siblings well. It just took some time for my scared feelings to disappear. Once my scared feelings go away, I’m quite a silly billy.
My Foster Mom takes me to the river and the beach a bunch. You’ll have to promise to do that too. I think I might actually be a merman like aqua man. I even have some cool marks on my face like that Jason Mamoa dude.
But I do have to admit, I’m a toy destroyer! I think I hold some type of world record for squeaky removal surgery. When I’m not playing Dogtor with my squeakies, I like going on car rides and walks in the park.
The park is desensitization therapy. On my first arrival, the sounds of kids playing and the noises from the toys and commotion was too much for me and I wanted to get the h*ck outta dodge. But now, I can rest and watch the kids play while Foster Mom reads.
Since lots of experiences are new and uneasy for me, you’ll have to pinky swear promise to be confident and patient. Are you willing to help me to conquer my fears? My bubble has been very small, but it is opening up every day. The world is my oyster so to speak. Anything is pawsible if you have an excellent understanding human on your side!
I want people to see me as an ambassador to my breed. Are you dedicated in helping me to learn to trust again? I know I sound like I’m a lot of work, but I’m worth it. Just ask my Foster Mom!
Love, Theo
