Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Winter and 9 other dogs from the same backyard breeder came into our rescue after the breeder decided "he had too many dogs." As he was leaving to go to Mexico, he decided he needed a place for all these dogs to go immediately or he told us that he would just dump them all at a kill shelter. Thanks to help from our fosters, we were able to accommodate taking in all 9 dogs. Winter and her sister, Summer, were the most neglected of the entire group. They came to us very skinny, starving to the point you could see all their bones, and so full of intestinal worms which caused them to become very anemic and knocking on death's door. They would not have survived another few days in the condition they were in, especially Winter, as she was the smaller of the two girls. Our vet had to put them on IV iron infusions to assist with their severe anemia and multiple rounds of dewormer to rid them of the intestinal worms. We put them on a special feeding schedule to put weight on them and they received lots of TLC from volunteers. In return, these puppies have blossomed and are now healthy and happy.
Winter is a little female Labrador puppy and our vet estimates she is around 5 months old. She currently weighs 26 pounds. She has the prettiest little face and is a favorite of our rescue director. Winter is feisty, a total lap dog and plays well with the larger dogs in her foster home - she can hold her own. She is doing well with potty training and just wants to be on your lap every chance she can get. She walks nicely on a leash. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home and has been good with cats and kids, too. Fortunate is the family that gets to adopt this little gem!
Winter's adoption fee is $650 (that includes GROUND transport from Houston, TX to the Hartford, CT area. Transport is arranged upon completion of adoption paperwork. We can do virtual meet and greets with pre-approved adopters prior to finalizing adoption. Winter has been to our vet and has been fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed and microchipped so she is ready to go! Winter is currently in her foster home in Rosharon, Texas and will remain there until adopted.
