My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking for a kitty with loads of personality, look no further, Oscar is your guy! Not only is he a perpetual purr machine, he is deeply affectionate and will completely throw back in your arms, legs up in the air, like a sleepy baby! When he's not luxuriating in your affections, he is eager to play and show off his goofy side. Yes, you'll need to stock up on cat toys and play away! One of our favorite things about him is that he uses both of his front paws like little hands to reach, grab, and hug. Watching him sit up like a Prairie dog, while tossing a toy around will make you laugh every time!

Another plus is that when he's ready for a cat nap, he loves nothing more than being nuzzled and kissed on his sweet little head! Cue, more loud purrs.

Oscar is a true Chicago Alley Cat! He was found as a bottle baby, stranded and alone in the middle of an alley. A caring neighbor scooped him up before he could be injured and turned him over to one of our Neonatal Fosters for care. Oscar has been spunky from day one. He was clearly not going to let his circumstances get the best of him! Oscar thrived as a bottle baby and absolutely loves life.

Oscar has been fostered with other young kittens, as well as older playful and nurturing cats, and he does well with them all. Because of his playfulness, he would make a great companion to another playful young cat (if you're looking for a pair, ask about his foster brother, Finch- they're a perfect pair). He would likely do well with cat savvy dogs if introduced appropriately. Older children would be best, as his playfulness could be too much for younger kids.

All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.
