Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mia!
We are so happy she is here with us in NW Indiana!
She has a sad story. A man watched someone let her out of his car and drive off. She stood there for 6 hours waiting for him to come back. It started to rain and she still said, waiting. The man that saw her abandoned finally went to pick her up and reached out for rescue assistance. We later learned she was originally adopted from one of the local animal shelters. Heartbreaking. I guess he thought she would be better off dumped on the street than taking her back to the shelter.
She just arrived up here and we are sooo excited to meet her and help her find her new family.
We will post more pictures and videos as we learn more about her.
Right now we are guessing she is about a year old. spayed and up to date on vaccines and rabies.
Adoption Process:
- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- one of our team members will get back to you.
- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
