Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Zeke!
He arrived to us from one of our rescue partners in Texas and is looking for a home of his own.
This cute boy is currently with a foster in Dyer, IN. They have other dogs ranging from 10 - 40lbs and he is doing well with all of them. They also have a cat.
The foster parents describe him as being a very curious boy who is learning a lot from his foster dog siblings. He picked up their doggie door in a day.
He loves to run around and play but when he is done he loves to snuggle. He fell asleep on foster mom's chest.
Backstory: the rescue in Texas received him from a family along with his mom. His mom had parvo and later died. The rescue raised him since he was weeks old.
He is very tiny right now weighing only 3lbs. He is guessed to be about 4 months old so we imagine he won't grow to be larger than 20lbs. For that reason we don't recommend a home with really young children.
He currently has age appropriate vaccines. We have his neuter scheduled at our partner vet in Cedar Lake, IN. Adopter must be willing to bring the dog back for his neuter. At that time he will also get his microchip
Adoption Process:
- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- one of our team members will get back to you.
- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received. We do not have a facility. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
