Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Who loves a good German Shepherd!
Venice
2 years 9 months
Born in July 7, 2018
22 kg
F-Spayed and Up to date on vaccines
Background
Venice was found thanks to a Facebook post; A kind-hearted person had rescued Venice from the streets, she was only skin and bones and they wanted to spay her, but they did not have the means to pay for her care and operation so they were asking for help. We contacted them as soon as we saw the post in order to help pay to get her spayed. A day before her appointment, Venice surprised when she gave birth to nine puppies!!!! She was so incredibly malnourished, that her pregnancy was not noticeable. Sadly, only one puppy from the litter survived, Venice’s daughter, Tuscany. The person who rescued them lived in a very small home and kept them in a 2x2 patio, so we offered to take care of both mom and daughter in order to get them to Canada.
Personality
Venice is beautiful, kind-hearted and loyal. This lovely girl loves spending time with her people and showing her affection comes easy to her, she loves to be pet and giving cuddles. She is bright and learns fast and is obedient, so she will do good at learning new house rules. Venice is full of energy and loves exercising, whether it is going for walks (or for a run! ) or playing with her humans (especially if there are toys involved!) movement and exercise will keep Venice happy! She is very expressive, she might jump out of excitement. Venice gets along better with male dogs rather than with female dogs. When she was living in the streets, it was very difficult for Venice to find food, she still growls and is protective of her food when other dogs approach it, so it is important that her new family understands that, and helps her realize that she is never going to go hungry again.
Ideal home
Venice’s ideal home is with a family that will include her in their daily dynamic in a house or an apartment that has a yard or access to green areas where she can go for daily walks.
Venice is good with older kids rather than young ones.
She is also good with cats but must be fed separately.
