My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxy (formerly Doe Dee) is a sweet little gal who came to FurEver Fosters all the way from the streets of Louisiana. She and her brother Rio were wandering the streets, scrounging for food wherever they could find it. Then, they were captured by animal control and waited until a rescue could save their lives. Because they have had very little human contact their whole life she is very scared and skittish and because of having to scrounge for food they were both very emaciated. But Roxy never attempts to bite, even when backed into a corner or trying to leash her.

Roxy still will not look you in the face when you talk to her, but we are working on that as well as socializing and she is really coming along great. She just needs lots of time, love and patience.

Roxy needs a home where there is a fenced in yard and someone who will give her the time, space and love she needs to become the perfect companion. That may not happen overnight, it may take 6 months, maybe even a year…but it will happen with enough patience.

When Roxy is leashed she will accept you petting her but will still try to move away or she will be very stiff. It is taking a bit more time with her, but we will continue to work with her in the hopes that with love, patience and kindness she will begin to trust humans.

Roxy really is a good dog that was dealt a crappy life to start, now he needs someone to be her and her brothers saving grace!

Roxy is not yet spayed because she just had her heartworm treatment on 8/23/21 so she has her spay appointment set for the end of October. If adopted before then, we will require a spay contract and $100 of her adoption fee will go towards her spay.
