My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! Thank you for checking out Abbott's adoption listing. Here are a few key points on our adoption process. Please read through them and then learn more about Abbott, down below.
•First, please note that we are unable to receive correspondence through Adopt a Pet’s system. Any messages sent through Adopt a Pet or any buttons on this listing will unfortunately not reach us. If you’re interested in adopting, please visit www.sanctuaryrescue.com and submit an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" section.

Abbott is here to steal your heart! She was born with a birth defect that caused abnormal development of her front leg, which will eventually require amputation. However, she hasn't let this dampen her spirit or slow her down. Abbott makes fast friends with anyone and everyone she meets and absolutely adores other dogs and loves to play. She is currently holding her own wrestling with several foster siblings and would love another dog to play with in her forever home. She enjoys toys and is a quick learner. Abbott longs for a life of big adventures. She's no homebody and won't be content being limited to just a house and a yard. Abbott needs a family who will take her out on walks and hikes. She would be a great buddy to bring to breweries, the farmer's market, or other hot spots around town. Bethany may only have three legs, but she can run, jump, and play just like any other dog. Abbott will need to stay at a lean, healthy weight to prevent excessive strain on her joints but otherwise she has zero restrictions! If you're looking for a happy pup to bring big love and laughs to your life, Abbott is your girl. Abbott's amputation surgery will be taken care of by the rescue when she gets a little older. Foster mom describes Abbott as a shy, gentle, sweetheart with just a hint of sass."

Abbott's adoption fee is $295, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, amputation surgery, spay, and microchip. If you would like to make this darling girl a part of your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and complete an adoption questionnaire under the “Forms” tab.
• If a pup's adoption listing is still up, that means we are still accepting adoption applications for them. No need to ask "is this dog still available?" because if the listing is still there, that's a Yes! If we get to the point that we have received a number of applications, we will change this listing to "applications closed." This means we are no longer accepting applications and have moved on to the review process. Next, foster parents will contact approved applicants to set up a meet-and-greet. This can take up to 1 to 2 weeks.
• Once a dog is officially adopted, we will remove its listing from Adopt a Pet. So if this listing is gone, this dog has found its forever family and is no longer available.
• This past year, we have seen a massive increase in people interested in adopting dogs (yay!). This means each dog, especially puppies, can receive multiple applications. If it doesn’t work out this time, please understand this is not a personal judgement but likely a result of supply and demand. We encourage you to reapply in the future.
