My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kyle was abandoned at the Selden, New York Petco with a female rabbit. The next day, the employees discovered that the female had given birth and sadly, she and both her kits had died. Thankfully, Kyle is now thriving in foster care. Although understandably shy because of his ordeal, he will run up to you and nudge you for attention.

Kyle is an entertainer! His quirky happy touch-me-on-my-terms personality will suit well for an adopter that simply enjoys watching his antics. He’s the type of rabbit who may appreciate being read to by calm children that can understand his boundaries.

He does need some extra care, as he has a digestive disorder called Megacolon. To learn more about Megacolon, please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbSrsXeSMNY

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption procedure includes a phone interview, home visit, and any necessary education of potential adopters. Our adoption fee is a $150 donation per rabbit. All of our rabbits are spayed/neutered, health checked by rabbit-savvy vets, vaccinated for the RHDV2 virus, and fostered in private homes.

For more information about adoptions, please read our guide to the adoption process or email us: information@longislandrabbitrescue.org

Go meet their pets

We don’t have a physical shelter building. The rabbits are fostered in our homes. If you are interested in any particular bunny (or bunnies), we can make arrangements for you to meet them. If you would like a companion for a bunny you already have, we can arrange for several “meetings” and a bonding session to ensure your bunny will be happy with his/her new mate!
