My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome Beau and Bentley, beautiful and fun bonded pair of Border Collies only 4 yr and 5 yr olds and weighing 40 and 50 lbs. They are looking forward to new life’s journey to a Foster or Foster to Adopt Home. They are part of our owner surrender program: the boys are healthy, well-adjusted dogs needing a change in life as their senior owner isn't able to give them the activity they need. These boys are ready to share their love and walks! They are great in the car, enjoy going to the vet, watching TV on the favorite spot on the couch, being brushed and going to the groomer for baths. They are used to children and have an innate gift with special people of all ages and they were raised w Maltese and cats. They hold their own on the leash but Mr Bentley is not interested in dog parks or daycare. He does better with dogs smaller than him, he isn’t boxed in and throwing off his confidence. I would say this is his one weakness but he enjoys taking direction from me and this helps any dog knowing it’s the human job to be their guide. Mr Beau is more outgoing w dogs and wouldn't mind a day at daycare, keeping this blossoming part of his personality. I wouldn't say one is a leader and one is a follower but they have differences that balance out. They were initially rescued together in 2015 found outside of the church where their owner is a priest. They miss the engagement from their human mom since she has passed. For these boys leash walks are a must, get your kiddos off the video games and out the door! Take a break from your work day and enjoy spending some time with these boys! Maybe a nice trail walk or hike, a visit to the farmers market and or a picnic in the park. Engagement with these boys is talking and walking, they don’t play with any balls or toys but are taking to some basic obedience and I see tricks in their future. They would excel with therapy certified training to share their sensitive nature to others. They do need: a home with a yard and 5 foot fence; children 6+; they need walks and socialization w people and other things they see in the world; someone who works from home or is active retired and or a day break during an 8 hr work day. They are house trained; fully vetted; crate training; micro chipped to the rescue and their adopter. There is an application to fill out and a home visit if applicable. They can travel for the right home. The adoption donation is lowered from 200$ per dog to 400$ for this bonded pair to be in a wonderful Furever Home
